Dialoguing with the Baha’i community

The Parish Ministry of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (PMEIA) of the Church of the Holy Family visited the Baha’i Centre in Semenyih Central on August 11.

The Baha’i brothers and sisters received 20 parishioners, including the PMEIA members, with open arms, for an Interfaith dialogue session. The aim of this visit was to promote awareness of interreligious harmony and social coexistence among the parishioners.

Upon reaching the Baha’i Centre, we were given pamphlets and booklets on the Baha’i faith.

The session started with chanting the Bahai opening prayer, followed by a welcoming speech. A video clip on their faith and the prophets, Baha’u’llah and Bab, was presented to us. A wide range of extracts from Baha’i writings on the theme of universal peace was also inserted in the video clip.

Baha’is believe in unity, equality and human rights. Baha’u’llah taught that world unity is the final stage in the evolution of humanity.

A Q&A session was held and many of us asked questions for clarification. Thereafter, everyone adjourned for a fellowship. We thanked the host for their hospitality and efforts to foster friendship and to enrich us about the Baha’i faith.
